The prices are pretty average…a little more than you’d pay at Stumptown. It’s been open for about three months and has built a reputation in NoHo and the Lower East Side for dependably delicious coffee and incredible industrial decor. The Bowery Coffee is a new little joint that sits on Houston Street between Elizabeth, and where else? Bowery, of course. You can buy intelligentsia coffee here (!!!!) It’s conducive for work, conversation, reading, and relaxation, AND-contrary to Yelp and Google’s opinion-the barista’s are really nice.įood? Sandwiches and snacks (muffins, bagels, etc.). I love that the place is open, airy, and bright. Really, there’s nothing too incredible about this place other than its location, the fact that it sells Intellegentia Coffee, and that it’s one of the few non-starbucks/non-generic places in SoHo to grab coffee and relax for a bit. Either way, you can enjoy the spring weather, blooming dafadills and tulips, and watch people stroll up and down West Broadway. If you want to sit outside for a little while and enjoy the sunshine, you have two options: sit under the skylight, or sit out on the side patio. While you’re there, avoid the drip coffee, but pick up an Americano. When you’re exploring SoHo, stop by Ground Support. That’s why Ground Support on 339 West Broadway-just south of Spring Street in SoHo-is named so appropriately. You’ve got to understand that when you work crazy hours and have just as hectic of a social life you need more than a little caffeine to get you through the day. New Yorkers for the most part, are coffee addicts (I know it’s not just me!). Sometimes our best friend comes in the form of a dark brown liquidy goodness known to the world as coffee. The Beetles were right, we get by with a little help from our friends. If you like your drinks iced, make sure to grab a festive striped paper straw! Pro Tip: Order the cortado or flat white (always to-go! Can’t forget those cups!). The website proclaims that “the founders of Happy Bones are passionate about art and want to share that passion with the children of New York.” The space is striking – it looks like it could be part of the MoMa. So, what’s unique about it? This ultra-hipster coffee bar features futuristic angles and a stark white interior to inspire creativity and the arts. If you asked me point-blank if I primarily wanted to come here because of the awesome art on the to-go cups, I would have to say YES. We HAD to go wherever these cute bone-covered cups could be found! Google directed us to a hole-in-the wall coffee shop in SoHo called Happy Bones. Tiffany and I had a grand adventure last August. She came up from Philadelphia to spend the weekend with me and was game for exploration, so we explored…and explored and explored! On a Saturday morning, I showed her a photo of a coffee shop that appeared on my Instagram feed. Tonight I am dreaming of sunshine, warm weather, and summer explorations. Currently, NYC is in the midst of a blizzard – my second since moving to the city in 2009.
